As part of the modernization of its IS, our partner embarked on a 5-year project to rewrite the business applications developed in COBOL on an IBM Mainframe system over several decades. The rewriting project involves batch redevelopment of existing applications to meet specific business needs. The application base is based on an x86/Linux ecosystem running on VMware. Modules are developed in PHP using the Cake PHP Framework. Data is hosted either on a historical Maria DB database, or on a PostgreSQL database, which is now the preferred choice.

Four families of work are concerned:

• Drawing up system specifications and functional test requirements (use cases). This may involve the production of study documents or the enrichment of repositories. It also includes functional review phases, during which the application's behavior must be checked against the specifications produced or adapted.
• Design, production, maintenance and testing of application components in compliance with the organization's standards and practices.
• Coordination of iterative data migration & rehabilitation work, followed by gap analysis.
• Development activities are carried out using the Agile method.

Missions :

• For each developer, the main activities of their service will be held by the following requirements:
• Investigate, cost and develop requests in accordance with current architectural rules and standards, and in coordination with functional teams;
• Carry over developments from one version to the next,
• Carry out and maintain unit and integration tests on developments,
• Analyze and take into account changes in the data model;
• Prepare and lead software demonstrations in conjunction with the specification team;
• Handle requests for assistance, corrections and upgrades;
  Be autonomous in a multiversioning context.
